Artist's Comments

I made this quilt with 1930's reproduction fabrics in 2005. The appliqued squares are based on a quilt made during the Civil War by Jane Stickle and the Dear Jane patterns by Brenda Papadakis. The block is called Jason's Jacks. I designed the layout to gradiate from the darkest at the upper left corner to the lightest in the lower right corner. The corners of the border are paper pieced and it is hand quilted. This was my first entry in a county fair and earned a blue ribbon.
